Wild Camping Tent Mld Duomid First Setup And Initial Impressions Alpine Readiness

Truly an amazing tent. i’ve had the duomid for about a year now and it has never let me down. quick to setup (with a little practice) and essentially bombproof. i’ve used it on alpine trips to mt.olympus, hikes across the olympic national park, and in 2 days i’ll be taking it on a month long trek through scotland. Two different wild camping setups as i meet up with fellow r, ‘walk with wallace’ for an overnight summer solstice summit camp. i was keen to see what ultralight camping & backpacking gear he uses and actually thought he would bring his mld trailstar. however he had a new tent with him the ‘smd lunar. I recently purchased my first roof top tent, and as a person who has always had a preference to camp in a ground tent, the hannibal roof top tent is a very welcome addition to our overlanding setup. it takes less than 5 minutes to setup, get a cold one, and be by the fire. Our entire kit for the night. the duomid, two quilts, sleeping pads and more. the tent i use is the mountain laurel designs duomid with no inner tent and two trekking poles setup in an apex at the top opening up the center completely. a great two man tent that weighs 700 grams with the perimeter netting. The one is an ultralight, fully enclosed, complete single wall tent. meaning, it has a floor, walls, bugnetting and everything else you need to be considered a tent. the one is easily setup with two trekking poles, or tent poles. weight: on my scales the one complete with stuff sack, guy lines and seam sealed weighs just 618grams.
