U4, u5, u6 , u7, and u8 soccer drills. while coaching grassroots soccer, you will get the most from your players and team when you choose the drill, practice session, or training plan that matches your players' age and skill set. when coaching under 4, under 5, under 6, under 7, and under 8 soccer, you are dealing with young undeveloped brains. 1. as the defender pressures the ball, the other attacker looks to “open up” by establishing a clear path for the teammate to pass the ball; 2. the ball is passed; 3. the 2nd attacker traps the ball. 2 attackers try to score a goal by beating 1 defender. minimum of one pass has to happen before the attackers can shoot. Drill 2 – 5 minutes. review the 2 moves learned during week 1. stop and go move; inside out move; continue dribbling as done in drill 1, but every 30 seconds or so ask the players to perform one of the two moves . drill 3 – stepover move – 10 minutes.
