My dear friends! here is the conversation i had with kristine wanders one among thetop female expat saudi blogger and world traveller who has been to 80 c. This past weekend i flew to abha to visit the nearby alsoudah season festival. it’s part of the new saudi initiative called “saudi seasons” by the saudi commission for tourism and national heritage which aims to put saudi on the map as a travel destination. the month of july was dedicated to jeddah season and august features both alsoudah and taif seasons. In total, i drove about 5500km in saudi. i’ll be blogging about this as well, but for now just know that we drove jeddah al ula, al ula tabuk, tabuk haql, haql jeddah, and then jeddah riyadh, with many stops in between. i loved having jen here and showing her a bit of my saudi life. so that was february. 1. croatia. croatia is stunning. in april i spent a week in dubrovnik with a fella i met on tinder a month before i left for saudi arabia. he was a great travel partner and i would happily have him be my travel side kick again he was only mildly irritated when i asked him to take the hundreth posed picture of me in a row. Anyways, let’s get to my travel list…. 1. turkey. last january i took a week long solo trip to turkey. i’d previously visited turkey back in 2011 and had fallen in love with the architecture. i split my time between istanbul and cappadocia. i arrived in istanbul and spent 2 days exploring the sites on the european side.
